Guitar & Bass    

     There are three approaches to Guitar and Bass at my studio.

     Number 1.) is the chord/basic scale method, where the student is shown basic chords to strum along with songs on CD's, and simple scales for fills and basic solos.

     Number 2.) is the "reading to know the instrument" method. The student is taught to read music on the instrument. Not as an end in itself, but to learn all the note, scale, and chord positions, along with proper holding and manipulation of the instrument, with both finger and pick technique.

     Number 3.) is a student inspired combination of the first two methods.

For students age 12 up-through adult

Electronic Keyboards     

     Although the Keyboard student at my studio will spend plenty of time at the Piano learning proper technique and artistry, the Keyboard approach here is the "Hey, I want to play in a band" style of learning. Students will learn how to "pick their parts" off CD's and learn "real world" marketable skills to become a working musician.

For students age 12 up-through adult

Piano

     The "Faber Method For Piano" is used exclusively at my studio. Thereby guaranteeing the proper balance of theory,technique, artistry, and repertoire. All styles of music are covered; Classical, Broadway, Jazz, Country, Rock, Pop, etc.. The total range of the instrument is introduced here before the student is encouraged to choose a style of music to specialize in.

Prerequisite: Electronic Keyboards

For students age 13 up-through adult

Voice

     When it comes to Vocal music training, I specialize in finding  the student's natural Vocal range and develop it's strengths, carefully and safely. A singer's true range can only be enhanced slightly on both the high and low end. Therefore I concentrate on enhancing the quality of tone and control,and an overall mastery of Vocal musicianship. Students with or without previous training are encouraged to see what a pleasure it is to sing in their "true" range instead of having to "push" their way through Vocal abuse.

For students age 14 up-through adult

Exceptions to the beginning age limit may be made under certain circumstances of previous training or exceptional maturity. Call me and we'll talk about it.
